A direct hire position is a position where a company utilizes the staffing agency to find a candidate or talent, then hires them directly. Someone offered a direct hire position is not an employee of the staffing company, they were simply discovered by the staffing agency. The direct hire goes directly on the client company payroll.

For example, you may turn to a staffing agency to fill an open position for direct hire if your HR department doesn’t have the means.

Direct Hire used in a sentence: We don’t have time to find a candidate ourselves, so we’ll use a staffing agency to fill the position and it’ll be a direct hire.
